Summer Schools
There is a wide range of summer school offerings - all age ranges from Year 6 to Year 11. Students may choose to go overseas or stay in Hong Kong. Summer schools offer a variety of experiences such as experiential learning, service opportunities, cultural activities or academic focused courses that may carry college credits.
Often, younger students will choose experiential courses, as just being away from home will provide a strong learning experience for them. Older students; Year 10 or Year 11, may choose a summer school that is more academically focused on the subject they may wish to apply for after Year 12. This will give them chance to confirm whether the subject will be a good choice for them at tertiary level.
We recommend that students choose a summer school they feel will help them grow both intellectually and culturally. Students should apply to what actually appeals to them rather than something that sounds good on paper but really holds no interest for them.
Any summer school applications that require transcripts of letters of recommendation should be channelled via the UCO.
